National Recognition Awards Presented by NAVPLG for Excellence in Volunteer Management


The National Association of Volunteer Programs in Local Government (NAVPLG) convened for their virtual annual meeting and awards presentations on June 21, 2023. NAVPLG is pleased to announce five award recipients. The awards recognize excellence in the field of volunteer management in city and county governments.

Awards were presented to the following: 

Award of Merit – presented to Corina Sadler, CVA, Volunteer Resources Supervisor, City of Plano, Texas

New Volunteer Administrator Award – presented to Brian Beach, Volunteer Services Coordinator, Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs

Innovative Program Award – presented to the City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for their Action for Literacy Day

Outstanding Volunteer Administrator Award – presented to Kellie Vitaich, Community Services Program Coordinator, City of Davis, California

Rising to Excellence Award – presented to Volunteer Gwinnett, Gwinnett County, Georgia

NAVPLG Annual Meeting Highlights Educational Program

After NAVPLG's annual meeting on June 21, Heidi Port, CVA, Volunteer Coordinator for the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City, presented the educational program on "Leading Volunteers with Confidence." Heidi's goal was to have members leave the session feeling even more empowered to reach our full potential as volunteer engagement leaders in serving our communities. 
 

NAVPLG Attends Points of Light Conference in June

Members of the NAVPLG Board of Directors met up in Chicago at the Points of Light Conference in June. The Board networked with other volunteer engagement leaders working in government.
