Recognition Activities Nationwide

Arlington County, VA

Each year, Arlington County, VA recognizes National Volunteer Week with a signed proclamation from the Arlington County Board. This year's proclamation encourages all to celebrate the invaluable work that volunteers perform every day and to continue strengthening Arlington through volunteer service.

Last year, for the 40th Anniversary of National Volunteer Week and to commemorate National County Governemt month, Arlington produced a  Do You Volunteer  video that highlighted the impact that Arlington County volunteers have on County services. Attendees at the County's annual recognition event viewed the new video, were treated to a performance by the award winning Tradiciones Bolivianas dance troupe and were personally thanked for their service to the community by the Arlington County Board Chair, Mary Hughes Hynes.
