Arlington's 9/11 Day of Service Preparedness Activities for Older Adults

VEST LogoThe Preparedness Seminars and Cavassing Project engaged volunteer leaders form the Arlington County Citizen Corps, youth volunteers from the Arlington Teen Network Board, and County Public Safety Officials in a host of activities geared towards the preparedness of the county's older adult population while simultaneously commemorating and memorializing the 9/11 National Day of Service and recognizing National Preparedness Month.  Captain Gregg Karl, first responder to the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, spoke to seniors about the importance of having a preparedness plan and representatives for the County's Office of Emergency Management, Fire, Police and Health Departments walked participants through a host of local resources and supplies for making a plan, staying informed and getting involved.
