President's Message: Spring Season!

It is beginning to feel more like spring again but, I guess that depends on where you live and work around the country. A lot is happening in our Cities and Counties, as we gear up for another busy season.

National Volunteer Week, begins Sunday, April 12th until Saturday, April 18th. This is the perfect opportunity to thank our thousands of dedicated volunteers for their time, talents and contributions.

NAVPLG features one of our members, City of Santa Clarita, CA in recognition of this. Please check out what Tess Simgen, the Human Services Supervisor has planned for their Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department next week. Also, read about what other Cities and Counties are doing to acknowledge their volunteers.

Remember - we are a membership driven organization. Please renew your membership dues and find out how you can become more involved. We have a few board vacancies and are looking for great candidates, who are driven to making a difference as well as advocating for our profession. So get involved!
