Reiagening Service announces Public Sector Research and shuts down

Reimagining Service was established in 2009 as a time-bound campaign to increase social impact through effective volunteer engagement practices across all sectors. The operation has provided a great deal of discussion and effort in regards to the field of volunteerism, however, in January they not only released their research regarding the Public Sector (scroll down for more information), but also shared they were shutting down operations.

"After careful consideration, we have concluded that the original purpose of Reimagining Service has been achieved and therefore, we will sunset the current operations of Reimagining Service later this month." Bobbi Silten, Reimagening Service Council Chair

PUBLIC SECTOR RESEARCH
Reimagining Service strongly believes in the importance of volunteer engagement coming to life in multiple sectors. We’ve seeded the nonprofit service enterprise model and presented new ideas for companies. We've broadened our attention to look at the public sector, in part because 25% of volunteerism takes place in this space, according to Gallup.

Public Sector Volunteer Engagement Study (December 2014)
Reimagining Service has conducted an interview-based study
across various levels of government and has identified eight characteristics along with other resources that illuminate effective volunteer engagement in the public sector.

Public Sector Webinar (January 2015)
We offered a webinar, in partnership with America's Service Commissions (ASC), on effective volunteer engagement in the public sector.  You can listen to the audio portion of the webinar, which starts at 5 minutes into the recording.  The slides of the webinar are also available under "Public Sector Webinar."
