2010 NAVPLG Excellence in Volunteer Management Award Recipient

Glenis Chapin

Glenis Chapin, EdM has the honor of receiving the 2010 NAVPLG Excellence in Volunteer Management Award for her work as Volunteer Services Coordinator for Marion County, Oregon. Glenis Chapin exudes excellence in volunteer management and has shown that leadership through many outlets.

Glenis was a founding member and past president of NAVPLG and right from the start was a passionate advocate for volunteer managers in local government. She has been a mentor to those working in the field of volunteer management and she has been a vocal supporter over the years for volunteers and the role they play in local government. Glenis was active in coordinating pre-conference training for NAVPLG for 6 years and was a presenter at many local and national conferences including the International Conference of Volunteer Management and the National Conference on Community Service.

Glenis was the recipient of Marion County's Vision Award for Excellence in Public
Service in 2009, she also was one of two county employees who staffed a committee that created and implemented a project which celebrated Oregon's Sesquicentennial during 2009. This project received the National Association of County Information Officers Excellence Award.

Glenis not only walks the walk of giving back to her community and the profession of volunteer management she does it with such passion and conviction that years down the road we will be better for her involvement in our profession.
