Arapahoe County’s Volunteer Connections Program

The Arapahoe County’s Volunteer Connections Program was presented with the 2010 NAVPLG Innovative Program Award. One of Arapahoe County’s most innovative volunteer service opportunities involves supporting the criminal justice system through a Court Notification Program. Volunteers make courtesy telephone calls to remind defendants of an upcoming date in court. The staff and volunteer-supported phone call reminders have made significant impacts in reducing failures to appear warrants and unnecessary expenditure of taxpayer funds.
